DCI Probes Death of Kenyan-French National in Karen

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are investigating the death of Georges Pierre Samuel Roomoguere, a 58-year-old Kenyan-French national who was found dead with a gunshot wound at his home in Hardy, Karen, Nairobi.

Roomoguere's body was discovered in a downstairs bedroom at his residence along Mukoma Road.

Police officers who arrived at the scene found him lying in a pool of blood with a gunshot wound to the head.

The incident was initially recorded at Hardy Police Station as a suspected suicide.

However, detectives are examining the circumstances surrounding his death, including an unexplained abrasion on the left side of his abdomen.

Investigators recovered a Glock 17 pistol containing 14 rounds of ammunition at the scene. Two additional magazines holding a total of 30 rounds were also found, alongside one spent cartridge from a fired bullet.

The items recovered are expected to form part of the evidence being examined as detectives seek to establish what happened before Roomoguere's death.

Although the case was initially classified as a suspected suicide, the circumstances surrounding the shooting have not been conclusively established.

Investigators are seeking to determine how the deceased sustained his injuries and whether the evidence gathered at the scene can explain the events leading to his death.

The unexplained abrasion on his abdomen is also among the details reported at the scene, although its cause has not been established.

Roomoguere's body was later transferred to Lee Funeral Home, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted to establish the cause of death.

The findings of the examination, together with evidence collected from his residence, are expected to help detectives piece together the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.

As investigations continue, police have not made a final determination on the circumstances of Roomoguere's death.

The case remains under investigation as detectives work to establish what happened at the Karen residence before he was found dead.
