Kwale residents have been urged to maintain vigilance and unity in their daily interactions, especially within the Muslim community. This call was made by Governor Salim Mvurya during the official launch of the new Jamia Mosque in Kwale town on April 8, 2019. The governor emphasized the importance of collaboration among Muslims, particularly through worship, as a means to foster development and achieve communal goals.

Governor Mvurya highlighted that unity and teamwork among Muslims could lead to significant achievements in terms of development and social cohesion. "If we unite and work as a team, then we will definitely achieve the intended specific goals of humanity through such houses of prayers," he stated. The mosque, a significant addition to the community, was constructed with the sponsorship of the Kuwait Government. Its foundation was laid in August of the previous year, a project initiated by Mvurya's administration.

The governor also challenged the worshippers to take good care of the mosque's impressive structure, underscoring the importance of maintaining the facility as a symbol of the growing relationship between the Kuwait Government and the Kwale administration. He assured the community that the mosque would be beneficial to everyone in the county and pledged his government's continued support to ensure that strong religious values are propagated throughout the region.

In addition to the spiritual benefits, the county government has committed to enhancing the mosque's infrastructure by building and decorating the parking space. Sheikh Suleiman Beyawa, the mosque's chairman, announced that the facility would also offer madrassa studies and provide worship zones for both male and female Muslim believers, further enriching the community's religious life.

The event was attended by several dignitaries, including the Minister for Culture and Social Welfare, Mr. Ramadhan Bungale, and Matuga Member of Parliament, Kassim Tandaza, among other local leaders. Their presence underscored the significance of the mosque as a unifying and developmental cornerstone for the Kwale community.

Governor Mvurya's call for unity and vigilance comes at a time when fostering communal harmony and development is crucial. The new Jamia Mosque stands as a testament to the potential achievements that can be realized through collaboration and shared purpose within the community.
