Kenya Inflation Rises to 6.8% in September 2026 as Milk, Flour and Transport Costs Climb
Kenya’s annual inflation rose to 6.8% in September 2026 from 6.6% in August, the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) said on Wednesday, September 30, as higher food, transport and household energy costs pushed up what households pay for everyday goods, just days before the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) meets on October 7 to review interest rates. The overall Consumer Price Index rose from 155.85 in August to 156.47 in September, a monthly inflation rate of 0.4%.
