Professional wrestling legend Ric Flair was reportedly taken to a Florida hospital after suffering a fall outside a bar in Tampa on Friday, October 23, 2026, amid concerns over his health.
Flair, 77, reportedly sustained facial injuries, including cuts to his head and around his eye, which was bleeding, according to TMZ. He was subsequently assisted into an ambulance for medical attention.
Reports also raised concerns about a possible concussion following the incident. However, further details about his condition and the circumstances surrounding the fall had not been independently confirmed.
The incident comes as the former wrestling superstar has disclosed that he is dealing with a blood clot in his leg, a condition that has forced him to limit his travel on medical advice.
In a statement shared on Instagram, Flair apologised for cancelling his scheduled appearance at Washington State Horror Con in Seattle, explaining that his health condition had made the journey inadvisable.
“Unfortunately I am dealing with a blood clot in my leg, and my doctors have limited my travel to 3-4 hours. Seattle falls outside that range, and as disappointed as I am, I have to put my health and recovery first,” Flair said.
The wrestling icon added that he was expected to undergo a procedure to remove the affected vein, which he hopes will eventually allow him to resume international travel.
Flair also emphasised the seriousness of blood clots, warning that they can become life-threatening if complications develop.
“Blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening,” he said, referring to the condition as one that requires medical attention and adherence to doctors' recommendations.
Born Richard Morgan Fliehr, Flair is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in professional wrestling history, having built a career spanning several decades across major wrestling promotions.
He joined All Elite Wrestling (AEW) in 2023 and was involved in the build-up to the final professional match of wrestling legend Sting at AEW Revolution, where Sting and Darby Allin faced the Young Bucks.
Flair's career has been marked by numerous championship victories. He won the World Championship Wrestling (WCW) World Heavyweight Championship eight times, the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) World Heavyweight Championship nine times and the WWE Championship twice.
His achievements earned him induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008 as an individual wrestler. He was inducted again in 2012 as a member of the influential Four Horsemen faction.
News of the reported fall has renewed attention on the veteran wrestler's health as fans await further updates on his condition and recovery.
