Detectives have arrested a third suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu on Magadi Road on September 9, 2025, as investigations into the alleged meticulously planned killing intensify.
The latest suspect, Noah Kipkirui Langat, is a boda boda rider suspected of conducting surveillance on Mbobu before he was shot dead.
Langat’s arrest follows those of Police Constable Julius Cheruiyot, who is suspected of being the gunman, and Nicholas Lemiso Naula, a boda boda rider accused of ferrying Cheruiyot to and from the scene of the murder.
With three suspects now in custody, detectives have intensified the search for other individuals suspected of playing a role in the killing, including those who may have planned or facilitated the operation.
“The DCI remains relentless in its pursuit of everyone suspected of having been involved, from those who allegedly planned and facilitated the operation to the suspected gunman,” the Directorate of Criminal Investigations said.
The investigation remains ongoing as detectives pursue additional leads to establish the circumstances surrounding Mbobu’s murder and identify all those suspected of involvement.
