Police in Teso North Sub-County in Busia County have urged boda boda riders to exercise caution while operating, following a recent increase in cases of riders being attacked, injured and having their motorcycles stolen.

Teso North Sub-County Police Commander Charles Chepkong’a has urged riders to remain vigilant when picking up passengers, particularly at night, to avoid falling victim to criminals posing as customers.

Chepkong’a has also called on riders to keep track of operators working at different stages and to share information with security agencies to help combat the rising cases of motorcycle theft and attacks.

Several motorcycles have reportedly been stolen in recent incidents, with some riders sustaining injuries.

The police commander has urged boda boda operators to work closely with security agencies and promptly report suspicious activities to help curb the rising insecurity.
