Police in Trans Nzoia County have arrested a man suspected of coordinating criminal networks operating in different parts of the region, as security agencies intensify efforts to identify and apprehend individuals linked to organised crime.

The National Police Service (NPS) announced the arrest on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, saying the suspect was allegedly involved in coordinating criminal networks and facilitating illegal activities associated with the groups.

In a statement, the service said officers had arrested the suspect as part of ongoing operations targeting individuals believed to be behind criminal activities in the county.

“Today, 21st October 2026, officers arrested a suspected gang member linked to the coordination of criminal networks operating in various parts of the county and to the facilitation of illegal activities associated with these networks,” the NPS said.

The suspect remains in police custody as officers process the case ahead of his expected arraignment in court.

Investigators are pursuing additional leads to identify and apprehend other individuals believed to be connected to the suspected network.

Police have not established publicly the full extent of the alleged operation or disclosed the specific role the suspect is accused of playing.

The NPS said it would continue following leads and gathering intelligence to track down other people suspected of involvement in the network.

The arrest comes amid continued police efforts to disrupt organised criminal groups and address security concerns in Trans Nzoia.

Authorities are seeking to establish the connections between suspected members and determine how the alleged networks operate across different parts of the county.

However, police have not disclosed the suspect’s identity, the name of the gang allegedly linked to him, the precise location of the arrest or the specific offences under investigation. It was also not immediately clear whether officers recovered any items during the operation.

The service called on residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement officers by sharing credible information that could assist investigations and help prevent criminal activities in their communities.

Residents were encouraged to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or use the available police reporting channels.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) also operates the toll-free Fichua Kwa DCI hotline, 0800 722 203, and WhatsApp number 0709 570 000 for members of the public wishing to report information, including anonymously.

Police said they remained committed to pursuing individuals suspected of participating in criminal networks and protecting communities from the threat posed by organised crime.

The investigation remains ongoing as officers seek to establish the full extent of the suspected network and apprehend any other individuals who may be linked to it.
