One person has died while two others are nursing serious injuries after a road accident at Namahindi, near Mungatsi Market in Busia County.
The accident involved a Probox car travelling from Busia towards Mumias and a motorcycle carrying two people, a male rider and a female passenger.
Witnesses said the motorcycle rider suddenly turned back towards Nambale when the Probox, which was allegedly travelling at high speed, hit the motorcycle.
The impact caused the Probox, which was reportedly transporting sugar from Uganda, to roll several times.
The driver of the Probox died at the scene while the motorcycle rider and his passenger were rushed to hospital in critical condition.
Police are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
