NCBA Bank is expanding its wealth management advisory services beyond Nairobi as it seeks to meet rising demand for investment planning, asset protection and succession advice among affluent customers. The lender recently held its Meet, Mingle & Money Talks forum in Nanyuki, bringing together more than 100 emerging affluent and high-net-worth customers to discuss strategies for building, preserving and transferring wealth.

The Nanyuki engagement forms part of NCBA’s broader effort to make financial expertise more accessible to customers outside the capital. Through NCBA Wealth Solutions, the bank offers services covering investment planning, insurance, property finance, income replacement and portfolio diversification.

NCBA Group Director of Retail Banking Dennis Njau said financial discipline, diversification and early succession planning were important to building and protecting generational wealth. The discussions encouraged customers to consider how their assets could be managed and transferred over time, rather than focusing solely on immediate income and investment returns.

Wealth advisory services can help customers assess their financial goals, balance investment risks and prepare for future needs such as retirement, property purchases and family succession. Planning ahead can also help individuals consider how assets should be protected and distributed, particularly where family businesses or multiple investments are involved.

The Nanyuki forum covered investment planning, property finance, insurance, retirement and estate planning. These topics reflect the different financial decisions customers may face as they accumulate assets, expand businesses and prepare for longer-term financial security.

NCBA is seeking to bring these conversations closer to customers through its branch network, which now exceeds 100 branches in Kenya. Regional engagements also give the lender an opportunity to understand the financial priorities of customers outside Nairobi and connect them with relevant advisory services.

The expansion comes as banks increasingly seek to deepen relationships with customers by offering services beyond everyday transactions. Wealth advisory can create opportunities for lenders to support customers across different stages of their financial lives, from growing investments to protecting assets and planning for succession.

For customers, access to specialised guidance in regional markets may reduce the need to travel to Nairobi for financial planning discussions. However, the value of such services depends on advice being aligned with each customer’s circumstances, risk tolerance and long-term objectives.

NCBA’s initiative is expected to continue through its Meet, Mingle & Money Talks series, which brings customers into direct discussions with financial specialists. The bank aims to extend access to wealth management expertise across Kenya as demand for structured financial planning grows.
