Advice for residents and businesses

The emergency repairs are intended to address a problem along the pipeline supplying water to parts of Nairobi, although the company did not specify the exact nature of the fault in the notices.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to make arrangements for the anticipated 24-hour interruption by storing sufficient water for essential household needs, including cooking, drinking, cleaning and sanitation.

Businesses, schools, healthcare facilities and other institutions within the affected neighbourhoods may also need to plan for the temporary disruption to avoid inconveniences during the repair period.

Customers are encouraged to follow official updates from Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company for information on the progress of the repair works and the restoration of normal water supply.

The company has not provided a specific restoration time beyond indicating that the shutdown is expected to last approximately 24 hours.
