One body has been recovered from the rubble of a collapsed five-storey building in Ogembo Town, Kisii County.
The body, identified as that of an adult male, was retrieved after rescue teams spent hours combing through the debris in search of possible survivors.
The Kisii County Disaster Management team has called off the search operation.
“The operation was officially called off at around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning after teams completed the search of the collapsed structure,” the authorities said.
The body has since been removed from the scene as authorities begin investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the building collapse.
