Kevin Kiarie Ruhiu has reaffirmed his intention to contest for the Roysambu Constituency parliamentary seat in the August 10, 2027, General Election, pledging to serve residents and champion opportunities for young people.
In a statement shared on his X account, Kiarie said his commitment to serving the people of Roysambu remained strong and unshaken, adding that he was determined to represent the constituency if elected.
He described Roysambu as a cosmopolitan constituency with significant potential in business, education, infrastructure and healthcare, arguing that more needed to be done to unlock these opportunities for residents.
Kiarie's vision for Roysambu
“Today I would like to reaffirm the promise I made to the people of Roysambu Constituency. I promised to offer myself to serve, that commitment still stands strong and unshaken,” he stated.
Kiarie said his leadership would focus on protecting the dreams of young people and ensuring that hardworking residents were not held back by systems that failed to meet their needs.
He also pledged to defend fellow athletes, saying he would stand up for their interests and advocate for better opportunities for young people in the country.
“There are plenty of opportunities for our youths here in Kenya more than anywhere else in the world and I shall stand to defend my fellow athletes without fear,” he said.
The aspiring legislator further promised to give Roysambu residents a stronger voice in leadership, saying the constituency had lacked adequate representation for a long time.
Commitment to youth empowerment
He maintained that, if elected Member of Parliament, he would prioritise service delivery and work to protect the aspirations of constituents.
Kiarie also pledged to serve all residents without discrimination, saying his leadership would be guided by the interests of the people regardless of their backgrounds.
“I shall serve, I shall deliver, I will protect the dreams of our hardworking youths and my fellow constituents from being shattered by broken systems,” he said.
He added that he had received support from Kenyans across different parts of the country and expressed confidence in his ambition to represent Roysambu in Parliament.
Political landscape ahead of elections
The aspiring MP is seeking the seat under the Democratic Change Party (DCP), according to the campaign poster accompanying his statement. The poster carries the slogan “Mwanzo Mpya” and identifies him as a candidate for the 2027 Roysambu parliamentary race.
His declaration comes as political aspirants begin expressing their intentions ahead of the next general election, which is scheduled for August 10, 2027.
However, Kiarie’s election bid will ultimately depend on the electoral process and the decision of Roysambu voters when they go to the polls.
As the campaign period approaches, his emphasis on youth empowerment, service delivery, healthcare, education and infrastructure is likely to form part of his pitch to voters in the constituency.
