Kenya Power has announced scheduled electricity interruptions in parts of Nairobi and Meru County on Friday, October 16, 2026, to allow for planned maintenance works.
The outages will run from 9am to 5pm, affecting customers in Pangani, Nairobi, and Mikumbune and Ntemwene areas of Meru County.
In Nairobi, the planned maintenance will affect parts of Pangani, including customers along Forest Road, Chai Road, Agoi Road and Pamba Road, as well as neighbouring areas.
In the Mt Kenya region, the interruption will affect parts of Meru County, particularly Mikumbune and Ntemwene.
According to the notice issued by Kenya Power, the affected areas in Meru include Mikumbune Market, Gaatia Market, Kandigi C/Fact, Macikine Section, Kiorone, National Oil, Ntemwene, Kagwampungul, Kabyoo and Kieru C/Fact, together with adjacent customers.
The utility company has advised customers in the listed areas to prepare for the temporary interruption as maintenance teams carry out the scheduled works.
The planned outages are expected to last eight hours, from 9am to 5pm, meaning affected households and businesses may need to make arrangements for activities that depend on electricity during the period.
Residents and traders in the affected areas may also need to plan around the interruption, to avoid having slow businesses today particularly those operating businesses that rely on a steady power supply.
