Political parties planning to participate in the 2027 General Election have until Thursday, October 15, 2026, to submit the names and specimen signatures of their authorised representatives to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
In a notice issued on Wednesday 14th October, the electoral agency directed the parties to submit the required details at Anniversary Towers in Nairobi, specifically on the seventh floor of the South Tower.
The submissions are intended to identify the individuals authorised to represent the political parties in official electoral matters ahead of the next General Election.
According to the IEBC notice, the exercise must be completed by the stated deadline, with submissions being received between 8am and 5pm.
Political parties intending to participate in the August 2027 polls are expected to ensure that the names and specimen signatures of their authorised persons are submitted within the stipulated period.
The commission’s announcement comes as preparations for the 2027 General Election continue, with political parties expected to meet the requirements set out by the electoral body.
The submission of authorised representatives’ details is an administrative requirement that helps establish the individuals recognised to act on behalf of political parties in their official dealings with the commission.
Parties will therefore need to confirm the identities of their representatives and provide their specimen signatures before the deadline to comply with the notice.
The IEBC has directed the submissions to be made physically at its offices at Anniversary Towers, rather than providing a different submission venue in the notice.
The announcement also references Gazette Volume 144, which contains timelines relating to the 2027 General Election and election campaign financing.
With the deadline falling on Thursday, October 15, political parties have been urged to take note of the submission requirements and the specified operating hours to ensure their documents are delivered on time.
Further details on the requirements are available through the commission’s official communication channels and the notice issued to political parties.
