Rainfall is expected in several parts of Kenya over the next seven days, with isolated storms forecast in some areas as the country experiences varying weather conditions between October 20 and 26, 2026.

Isolated thunderstorms may also occur in parts of Kitui, Makueni, Kajiado, Machakos, Laikipia, Samburu, Mandera, Wajir and Marsabit counties.
Residents in these areas are encouraged to exercise caution during storms, particularly when travelling or undertaking outdoor activities. Thunderstorms can be accompanied by lightning, strong winds and locally heavy rainfall, which may affect road conditions and disrupt normal activities.
Meanwhile, high daytime temperatures are expected in several parts of northern and eastern Kenya, as well as sections of the Coast.
Average maximum temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius are forecast in parts of Garissa, Wajir, Tana River, Isiolo, Kilifi, Marsabit, Samburu and Turkana counties.

Average minimum temperatures are forecast to fall below 10 degrees Celsius in a few areas of Meru, Tharaka-Nithi, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang’a, Nakuru and Kajiado counties.
Residents in these highland areas may need warm clothing, particularly during the early morning and nighttime hours when temperatures are expected to be lowest.
The contrasting conditions highlight the range of weather expected across the country during the forecast period, from rainfall and isolated thunderstorms to hot daytime conditions in arid and semi-arid areas and cold nights in highland regions.
Residents, farmers, motorists and other people whose activities depend on weather conditions are encouraged to monitor official weather updates throughout the week and make appropriate preparations.
The forecast covers the seven-day period from Tuesday, October 20, to Monday, October 26, 2026.
