Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has died, his family has confirmed in a statement shared on his social media page.

The family announced that the musician passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, October 14, 2026, describing his departure as a painful loss.

In the statement, the family said the singer had “said goodbye to the world” as they appealed to his fans and well-wishers to keep his wife, children and other relatives in their prayers during the difficult period.

The family did not immediately provide details surrounding his death but said information about his burial would be communicated at a later date.

News of Toluwanisings’ death sparked an emotional reaction among his followers on social media, with many initially expressing disbelief and hoping the reports were untrue.

The confirmation later prompted an outpouring of condolences from fans, fellow gospel musicians and other public figures who celebrated his contribution to gospel music.

Among those who reacted were prominent Nigerian lawyer Pelumi Olajengbesi and comedian Woli Agba. Woli Agba had earlier appealed for prayers for the singer, adding to the concern surrounding his condition before the announcement of his death.

Toluwanisings had spent approximately 11 years in music, building a following through gospel songs that featured prominently among his fans.

His popular releases included *Unreserved Praise*, *A Very Big God*, *Onibuore*, *E Lagbara* and *Owo Re Meji Meji*. Through his music, he became known to listeners within Nigeria’s gospel music scene and beyond.

His passing has also drawn attention to a road accident he was involved in months earlier alongside members of his band. However, the information provided did not establish whether the earlier accident was connected to his death.

The singer’s family is now mourning his loss while asking the public to respect them and remember those closest to him in prayer.

As tributes continue to emerge, fans are reflecting on the songs and performances through which Toluwanisings built his career over more than a decade.

The family is expected to release further information about funeral arrangements in due course.
