Police in Siaya have arrested 12 suspects following a chaotic incident in which a group of youths allegedly attempted to obstruct a convoy carrying dignitaries in Siaya town.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, shortly after a women’s economic empowerment event held at the Siaya KMTC grounds.
According to police, the youths allegedly attempted to force their way through a secured gate as the convoy headed to a designated landing and take-off site.
The group is also accused of obstructing the convoy and throwing stones at police officers manning the entrance.
Officers responded by restoring order and arresting 12 people suspected of taking part in the incident.
The suspects remain in police custody as they undergo processing ahead of their arraignment in court.
